These caramelised almonds are from the Levante area of Spain. The rounded “Marcona” variety is the most popular and appreciated because of its impressive flavor and nutritious value. Marcona Almonds are sometimes referred to as the “Queen of Almonds” and almost all of the production is from Spain. They are sweeter, fatter and rounder than the typical California variety. When toasty brown, they are caramelised with sugar and served as a delicious snack.
